A Gift of Wellness, Play, and Community
At Quality Touch Pools, we believe the joy of swimming and water wellness should be accessible to everyone not just a luxury, but a meaningful part of life. That’s why we were proud to complete a full swimming pool construction project for Mercy International, a nonprofit organisation based in Khon Kaen, Thailand.
Who Is Mercy International?
Mercy International is a charitable foundation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children and families across Thailand. Their mission includes providing safe housing, education, emotional support, and life skills for underprivileged youth. Their centre in Khon Kaen offers a home and community environment for dozens of children in need of care, protection, and opportunity.
Why We Built This Pool
This project began as an idea by Angela Reynolds who heads Ban Meata's children's village and after exploring the idea for a swimming pool for the children we were approached to undertake this project. Understanding the physical, emotional, and social benefits of swimming, she knew a pool could bring daily joy and health to the children at Mercy. More than just a recreational space, this pool is:
- A safe place for the children to play and grow
- A tool for teaching vital water safety skills
- A sanctuary for physical exercise and mental relaxation
- A central point for community bonding and events
This pool was made possible by all the kind donors that funded this project to make this dream a reality and we are forever grateful to them.
Project Details
Structure: Reinforced concrete pool with full-tile interior
System: Saltwater chlorination for gentle, low-maintenance use
Safety: Non-slip tile surrounds, shallow and deep-end zones
Design: Functional, child-friendly layout, a shallow pool designed for the smaller children and a deeper end for the older children for daily use and ease of maintenance
The entire project was completed as a full donation, from design to construction. It was a team effort that we are deeply proud of.
